It took me a while, but I am officially obsessing about the master bedroom of our new home. I plan to keep it light and bright with white walls, white bedding and light colored curtains. If you follow me on Instagram, then you might have seen that we replaced our outdated window with French doors. We were SO lucky to get the doors for free from my dad's job site (they were torn out and replaced with a new set at that house). My dad pieced it all back together and built a custom red oak threshold for them. Now we have to patch the walls, add trim and repaint the doors with Pure White by Valspar. I can't tell you how excited I am because the light is just glorious.... I love, love, love bright bedrooms! Plus I am dreaming about opening the doors and watching the kids play out back while I stay in bed for lazy Saturday mornings... oh. my. goodness. It's going to be epic.
Rooms That Inspire Me
Work In Progress
I know we have a long way to go to reach the end result, but we're making good progress (hard to tell from the photos above, but just trust me on this one). We expanded the room, rebuilt the closet, installed recessed lighting and are now working on those French doors. Still need to recenter & replace the fan, refinish the floors, add trim and paint but that'll all happen in due time. Here is some inspiration on the decor side: white linens, White Dove (by Benjamin Moore) for the walls, rustic bedside sconces, mismatched bedside tables, an industrial sideboard for under our TV, and a reading chair that will sit window-side with a lush fiddle leaf fig... the poor one I had was killed in the move :(
